Preserving a Sanctuary for Wellness

Your Yoga was created with the mission to preserve a beloved local studio during the pandemic, ensuring there would always be a place for connection, healing, and wellness.

Our Story

From Loss to Renewal

Our journey began with a desire to preserve a cherished local hub and nurture its community's well-being and connections. Heights Yoga and Wellness Centre emerged from the closure of Modo Yoga Burnaby (MYB) in October 2020, a loss that deeply affected us. Driven by a collective spirit, we united to keep this beautiful studio alive.  The legacy continues with Your Yoga in the new space.

Born From Community and Hope

Opening a new yoga studio with a fresh identity during the uncertainties of the pandemic presented its challenges. However, we recognized the profound need for a safe and communal space for practice. It was out of this love for community and a shared sense of hope that Your Yoga was born.

Bright, modern white yoga studio with mats, water bottles, and large windows.

What Should Students Expect From Your Class?

To feel safe, supported and comfortable to go at your own pace listening to your body.

About Me

I began teaching hatha, chair yoga, yin and yoga nidra in Vancouver in Jan 2023. I began my practice in 1999 as a way to cope with the stresses of the Corporate world. In 2014, I decided to stay home with my beautiful kids, and this provided time for me to return to my practice. During Covid, I had the opportunity to own a studio but challenges from not being a teacher. In 2023 I completed my 200-Hour in Vancouver and am now working towards my 500-Hour. I fell in love with meditation and stillness in my practice. I enjoy teaching relaxing classes that focus on deep rest and healing, such as Yin and Yoga Nidra. In my class you will expect to learn and maybe spark curiosity within yourself about median theory, TCM teachings, anatomy, and history and philosophy. I love having fun in my classes and bringing a smile to the students' faces. I always end class with a mantra, Lokah Samastah Sukhino Bhavantu which means "May all beings everywhere be happy and free, and may the thoughts, words, and actions of my own life contribute in some way to that happiness and to that freedom for all."

What Can You Expect From My Class?

Come as you are - the classes are breath based with a whole approach of awareness, intentions and body. Variations and transitions are offered to accommodate all levels

About Me:

I have been a teacher and a student of yoga for over 8 years. I love to incorporate mindfulness and intentions in my practice and to create a safe space for natural release and for opening doors for gratitude, compassion and love.

I teach Hatha, Yin, Flow with music, and Vitality - helps reset the nervous system, lymphatic system, long hip openers, chakras. I also teach yoga for recovery and therapy, extensive breath work and meditation.

To me, Yoga is a sense of empowerment and a path into the higher self. It’s not just a certain style of Asana practice, but an inclusive holistic practice that includes the choices I make about my health, lifestyle, mental, spiritual and physical well-being.

I’ve been blessed to have great teachers who taught me some ancient knowledge of the practice - and to acknowledge life as the master teacher. Losing hope after a personal loss, the path of yoga showed me the way to light, love, and gratitude toward oneself and others around us.

What Can You Expect From My Class?

You can expect to find a place for yourself no matter where your body and mind are at that day. My classes are challenging with lots of opportunities for modifications and amplifications to make your practice work for you, and I'm passionate about creating a safe space for you on your mat no matter where you're coming from.

About Me:

I have a spine injury that means what I'm physically capable of is different every day. I believe yoga is the only reason I still have mobility, and being able to share that gift with my students is something I'm so grateful for.

I love the spiritual and traditional origins of the yoga practice, but when I teach, you are more likely to hear me talk about the functionality of movement. I get really excited about anatomy, and it's not uncommon to get a mini lesson about a random muscle in the middle of a posture when I'm teaching.

Off the mat, you can usually find me watching hockey or reading. I am a big, giant nerd and love to learn!
